Prof. Dr. Özgür EMİNAĞAOĞLU, Director of the Ali Nihat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden Application and Research Center and Project Coordinator, paid a courtesy visit to H.E. Dr. Turan ERGÜN, Governor of Artvin.

During the visit, information was provided regarding the implementation process of the “GreenS4BlackSea – Protection of Virgin Forests as a Green Solution for the Black Sea” project. Consultations were also held on the role of the Governorship as a project stakeholder and on how it could contribute to the project activities.

Within the scope of the visit, evaluations were made regarding the strengthening of inter-institutional cooperation and the more effective implementation of the project at the local level. It was emphasized that the GreenS4BlackSea project would make significant contributions to the conservation of Artvin’s natural heritage, the identification of virgin forest areas, and their sustainable management.
