The ACU Team Coordination Meeting of the project entitled “GreenS4BlackSea – Protection of Virgin Forests as a Green Solution for the Black Sea”, implemented within the framework of the European Union Interreg NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme (Interreg VI-B), was held on 20 January 2026 with the participation of the entire project team.
During the meeting, key issues related to the overall framework of the project and its implementation process were discussed in a comprehensive manner. In this context, an overview of the project outputs and expected results was provided, and the overall objective, rationale, and context of the project were discussed. Furthermore, the common territorial challenges to be addressed by the project, the innovative aspects of the proposed approach, and the reasons why transnational cooperation is necessary to achieve the project objectives were examined. The beneficiaries of the project outputs, the project’s contribution to broader strategies and policies, and the ways in which it will create synergies with EU strategies, other BSB projects, and relevant programmes and initiatives were also discussed. In addition, it was assessed how the project builds on existing knowledge.
In the second part of the meeting, the project work plan and timeline were reviewed. Project management and communication processes were discussed, including how the project will be coordinated and managed, which measures will be taken to ensure quality, and the general approach to project communication. The reporting procedures for activities and budget within the partnership were also considered. Finally, cooperation criteria, horizontal principles, the long-term effects and sustainability of the project, ownership, lasting effects, and the transferability of the results were discussed.
