The National Workshop of the GreenS4BlackSea Project was held on 21 April 2026 at the Ali Nihat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden of Artvin Çoruh University.

The National Workshop, hosted by Artvin Çoruh University as the Lead Partner, was attended by project partners, namely the NGO Community and Environment (3) participants), Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (6 participants), and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (4 participants), along with experts involved in the project team. In addition, a total of 30 participants attended the meeting, including representatives from the Artvin Regional Directorate of Forestry, Artvin Forest Enterprise Directorate, Artvin Directorate of Nature Conservation and National Parks, the Provincial Directorate of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, members of the Board of the Chamber of Forest Engineers of Artvin, members of the Artvin Provincial Representation of the Chamber of Forest Engineers, representatives of Artkim Ltd. Co., the DOKA Artvin representative, as well as staff and students of Artvin Çoruh University.

The meeting, which began with the opening speech of Project Coordinator Prof. Dr. Özgür Eminağaoğlu, was held in two sessions.

In the first session, presentations were delivered on the following topics: Introduction of the Methodology: Identification of Virgin Forests (Dr. Ketevan Samadashvili) and Selection of Virgin Forest Stands in Adjara (Jumber Abuladze).

In the second session, presentations were delivered on Greek Forests: Administration, Management and Protected Areas (Elisavet Konstantinidou and Zoi Ftika), and Introduction of Potential Sites for Field Studies (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Can Vatandaşlar and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ekrem Saralıoğlu).
