The “Online Steering Committee Meeting” of the project titled “GreenS4BlackSea – Protection of Virgin Forests as a Green Solution for the Black Sea,” implemented under the European Union NEXT Black Sea Basin Programme (Interreg VI-B), was held on February 25, 2026, under the leadership of Artvin Çoruh University Ali Nihat Gökyiğit Botanical Garden Application and Research Center (ANGBB). The meeting was conducted in partnership with Batumi Shota Rustaveli State University (BSU) and the Community and Environment Association (C&E) from Georgia, and Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (AUTh) from Greece, with the participation of representatives from all partner institutions.
During the meeting, activities carried out in the first month of the project (administrative processes, promotional materials, website, and social media activities) were evaluated. The preparation and printing process of promotional materials (plaque, poster, banner, roll-up, and brochures) were discussed. It was decided that each partner institution would propose experts for the establishment of the Advisory Board. In addition, the dates, participant structure, and content of the meetings and events to be held in Artvin in April—namely the Stakeholders Board Meeting, Kick-off Meeting, National Stakeholder Meeting, Regional Workshop, and tree planting event—were planned.
